Portulaca grandiflora
The only species of Portulaca that I have are Portulaca grandiflora hybrids, more commonly known as 'moss rose'. More detailed notes of the plant can be found in my Portulaca Flowers page.

I have tried to grow them from seed, but my seed-growing technique is more suited to cacti, not the more fleshy succulents. Fleshy succulent seedlings are easily wiped out by moss or fungi. A batch of Portulaca grandiflora seedlings is shown below. Needless to say, I haven't got a mature plant from this bunch.

Lately, I have seen a double-petaled orange hybrid in nurseries. The colour of the flower is not really a bright orange, but light orange-red.
