Gymnocalycium Mutant Grafts

Here are some old photographs (taken with an SLR) of several red ball mutant Gymnocalycium mihanovichii grafted onto Myrtillocactus geometrizans. These are pre-1998 shots, so the colour reproduction may not be entirely accurate.

The first picture shows six successful grafts. They are offsets from one or more large specimens that I bought. The original were grafted onto Hylocereus stocks. All of the small pots are 2" in diameter.

Picture at right is one of my more successful mini-grafts. This picture was taken after a few months' worth of growth.

Here are two more shots. The first shows a graft of a very small offset. The ribs of the Gymnocalycium are not evident yet. The second is an older specimen, where the ribs and the globular shape of the species have become more prominent.
