Copiapoa graft

This is a Copiapoa tenuissima graft on Echinopsis sp. a stock. I seem to be getting tremendous mileage from this combination. Other grafts on Echinopsis sp. stock were rather less successful, the graft growing rather less vigorously.

As you can see in the pictures, the size of the graft have almost outstripped the size of the stock. The two pictures above were taken in 1 June 2000.

After three months, the graft is still healthy, and the stock has sprouted several offsets which I have neglected to remove.

Unfortunately, I ultimately messed up this grafted specimen. No use crying over split milk, though. This combination is one of my prime candidates for future attempts. I still have several of those rooted Copiapoa offsets, so getting the plants is not a problem.
