Gasteria Flowers

My largest Gasteria specimen started putting out a stalk of flower buds in early May 2001. The stalk sneaked out near the youngest leaves at the top of the plant.

Four days after the initial pictures, the flower stalk has become clearly visible. Individual buds can be clearly discerned.

Here are two more pictures of the plant on the same day. Gasterias put out flowers stalks from the apex of the plant.

Five days after the last photo shoot, the flower stalk has grown considerably.

Forward another three days. It has been twelve days since the first picture (at the top of the page.) Lower buds are almost fully formed. I must say, the stalk grows very fast!

Four more pictures taken in the same session, showing in detail the flower buds of the Gasteria flower stalk.

See Page 2 for more.
