Adenium Flowers

These are old photos of Adenium obesum once grown by my family. I no longer grow them as they seem to get attacked by bugs too often. Rather than spray a lot of poisons, I have opted to grow other, tougher, succulents.

This is the generic Adenium obesum variety that is prevalent in gardens in KL, Malaysia. In 2001, many hybrids have begun to appear in nurseries and some of these hybrids can be found in gardens now.

The hybrids include plants with completely red blossoms or mostly white blossoms.

In order to grow Adenium obesum well in Malaysia, the application of some insecticide and fungicide is usually required, unless you live in an area where bugs don't seem to exist. If you can grow them just fine without any insecticide or fungicide, then you're darn lucky.
